What areas of Wiltshire does The Good Massage cover when working mobile?
I currently work across the greater Chippenham and Corsham areas.
How much space do I need to have a massage at home?
Just enough to be able to fit my massage couch and myself moving around it. If you are not sure, place a shower towel on the floor and walk around it; that’s how much space we will need for the treatment.
Do I need to undress completely for a Massage?
No. With the Swedish Massage, I usually work with clients ideally in their underwear, preferably knickers -not thongs- and bra for women and underpants for men. Sports Massage requires the area to be treated to be free of clothing. Shorts and thin-straps/short sleeves tops can also be worn if you feel uncomfortable otherwise, but the effects of the treatment might be somewhat reduced.
How can I pay?
There are 3 different ways to pay:
1- By card (I have a card reader that accepts most debit/credit cards including American Express)
2- By cash.
3- By bank transfer.
Will Sports Massage hurt?
No, Sports Massage does not need to be painful. I always work with a 1-5 pressure scale (being 1 a gentle stroke and 5 very painful), I aim to work at a maximum of 3, as any more pressure will make the muscles tense up, making it harder to work on them. However, some people prefer a more intense type of pressure, which I can adapt to if requested.
Will I be sore after a Sports Massage?
It depends, but it is a possibility. It will depend on the condition of the muscles we treat, the level of hydration in your body, the duration of the technique over a particular muscle, and your level of sensitivity, among other factors. Nonetheless, some level of soreness is a natural response and indicates the massage is addressing muscle tension and helping with its recovery, so it can be considered a positive side effect of a Sports Massage.
Will the therapist use oil, lotion or wax?
For Sports Massage, I use my own homemade mix of shea butter+pure essential oils wax (I have different ones for you to choose from), but I also use organic grapefruit oil for very sensitive skin (also for pre/post-event massage) and scented massage oils for Relaxing Massage.
Will my hair get dirty?
Sports Massage does not usually require massaging the scalp, so it shouldn't get dirty. However, the Swedish Full-Body Massage can involve gentle strokes over the scalp, therefore you might get some oil on your hair. Nevertheless, we can always adapt the massage to your needs and make sure we do not get any product on your hair.
How do you handle my personal data?
The Good Massage is registered with the Information Commissioner Office (ICO) and all records are kept in line with their statutory requirements.

Can I have the massage in a room upstairs?
Due to the bulkiness and weight of my equipment, I would very much prefer if the treatment took place downstairs. I have massaged in front rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, garages, and even in a corridor! So any space is good as long as there is enough room for my couch and myself to walk around it. However, if it is not possible to do it downstairs, upstairs would be okay.
I'm not used to having strangers at my home, how do I know I can trust you?
Fair enough question. As well as being DBS cleared, I run my business very professionally; at the end of the day, I depend on my clients feeling safe and in good hands to make a living. Massaging is not only my job, it is my passion, and my whole focus is on making YOU feel at ease and comfortable. I can also provide ID if it helps.
Can I get a discount?
Yes. All clients who book and pay for the treatment in advance get a Loyalty Discount of 10% for each treatment after their first massage (only applicable to Sports, Relaxing and Pregnancy Massages, either at home or at the studio).
Can I get a gift card to treat someone else to a massage?
Absolutely. The Good Massage has different designs of gift cards to offer for any occasion: Christmas, Valentine's/ Mother's/Father's Day, Birthdays, Anniversaries... Simply request one amongst the various types to choose from (you will be sent a variety of designs), and you will receive it personalised (your name and recipient`s name) by email with a unique serial number that can be exchanged for a treatment within 12 months from the date of purchase.
Is the massage couch secure?
My massage tables - or couches - are from the best brands of massage equipment (Affinity and Easy Plus). They are sturdy, robust and very comfortable.
Is the consultation part of the 50 min?
No. The pre-treatment consultation is necessary to carry out a proper assessment of the area to treat and to tailor the massage. It is free and separate from the 50-minute Sports Massage (Relaxing Swedish Massage does not require a pre-treatment consultation). So, whether it takes 5 or 15 min to complete the consultation, it will not be taken out of the massage time.
Can I come with someone who waits until my massage is done?
Yes. Our massage studio has a waiting area with armchairs to comfortably wait for your companion until your massage treatment is finished.
What happens if I fall sleep during the Relaxing Massage?
Absolutely nothing, we have all done it at some point - or have been very close to do so. It is a good sign, it means you are fully unwound and the treatment is achieving, at least, one of its objectives: to relax you. If you prefer to be woken up (if I sense you have drifted off), simply let me know at the beginning of the session.
Do I need to be seated for my pregnancy massage?
No. The full-body relaxing massage we offer for pregnant and breast-feeding ladies commences on the couch with the client comfortably lying down on their left side, cuddling up to large, plush, supportive cushions and finishes lying on their back.
Is the pregnancy and post-natal massage just on the back?
No. It is a full-body relaxing massage to help the mums-to-be and new mums nurture themselves and their little ones. Our specialised massage service is designed to ease the aches, relieve stress, and restore balance during and after pregnancy. It covers the back, legs, feet, arms, neck, belly, and face areas.
